Wedding Edition: Dress according to thy Shape
THE ONE AND ONLY RULE I HAVE IS: KNOW YOUR SHAPE, AND WORK IT GIRL!
There are thousands of dresses in bridal salons but I know you don't want to waste your time trying each and every one, if you know what styles your body type looks good in, it will help make the process of finding your wedding dress a lot easier and faster. Here are some tips in helping you know what style of dresses are good based on your body type.
If Busty: if you have big boobs, go for a sweetheart shaped neckline, it will flatter your chest area than just a straight across neckline which could make your boobs looks more bigger and just look like your boobs are just sitting there instead of fitting with your body in the dress.
If Plus size: You are fabulous honey and just because you have a little more meat on your bones doesn't mean you can't wear different types of styles, but majority of my plus size babes are well endowed in the chest area, an empire silhouette is more flattering because it has a fitted bodice which keeps your boobs in place and gives you a high-waist look.
If Tall: a plain silhouette helps accentuate your natural curves, too much embellishment can make you look like a Christmas tree (YIKES!!) also remember if you do want long sleeves on your dress make sure it's ends on your wrist because if not it will not look tailored.
If Curvy: Honey your Hips don't lie and it won't in your dress. I have seen when it comes to more shaped, curvy women. Mermaid, mermaid, mermaid!! Mermaid silhouette shapes to the body from the chest to the knee, then flares out to the hem. It is a fitted and shaped style so curvy women in mermaid style dress look super amazing in it because it accentuate the curves they already have.
If Petite: Trumpet, sheath, Princess and A line style gowns compliment your small frame. Try dresses with a waistline above your natural waist, it will make you look longer and more modelesque.
If Small chested: Try a heavy fabric bodice, detailed beading, ruching, or ruffling to take away from the appearance of smaller boobs and fill out the area much more. Because you have a small chest, keep in mind of your bra, the right push-up bra or self-adhesive silicone cups will give an illusion of bigger breast.
If Straight: Women with not as much curves, look for dresses that create a shape, try dresses that clinch to the waist and into a flowing floor length skirt. Sheath or ball gowns are great! This type of style brings out your slenderness and disguises your lack of hips.
